BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with related Coronavirus proteins.
Cross-reactivity with homologues from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), an emerging disease characterized by atypical pneumonia, has been attributed to a novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV).
The SARS 3C-like protease (SARS 3CL (pro)) is a cysteine protease responsible for proteolytic cleavage of the viral precursor polyprotein into functional proteins required for coronavirus replication.
It is considered an attractive target for therapeutic development against SARS.
