Optineurin은 adenovirus E3-14.7K 단백질과 상호작용하며, TNF-α 또는 Fas-ligand 경로를 통해 세포사멸, 염증 또는 혈관수축을 매개할 수 있습니다.
또한 세포 형태형성, 막 수송, 소포 수송, 전사 활성화 과정에서 RAB8, huntingtin, transcription factor IIIA 단백질과 상호작용할 수 있습니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 동일 단백질을 암호화하는 다수의 전사 변이가 생성됩니다.
