BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Human, Mouse, and C. elegans.
Predicted to react with Rat, Chicken, Xenopus, Drosophila, and Plant based on 100% sequence homology.
Cross-reactivity with Histone H3 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes.
This structure consists of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a nucleosome, an octamer composed of pairs of H2A, H2B, H3, and H4.
Chromatin fiber is further compacted through interaction with linker histone H1.
This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H3 family, found in a histone cluster on chromosome 1.
Transcripts lack polyA tails and contain a palindromic termination element.
This record represents the telomeric copy of one of four duplicated histone genes in the cluster.
