The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

The MBTPS1 gene encodes a member of the subtilisin-like proprotein convertase family, which includes proteases that process protein and peptide precursors in the secretory pathway. The encoded protein undergoes autocatalytic processing in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to form a heterodimer that relocates to the cis/medial-Golgi, where catalytic activity is acquired. It is a type I membrane-bound protease involved in cholesterol and lipid homeostasis through cleavage of substrates at non-basic residues. Mutations in this gene may be associated with lysosomal dysfunction.
