Product Specific Information

The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the μ heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not cross-react with IgD, IgG, or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B cell development and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues. This fluorochrome-conjugated antibody can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM in flow cytometry.

Brilliant Violet™ 605 (BV605) emits at 605 nm and is optimized for cytometers with a 405 nm laser. Ensure instrument compatibility before use.

When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies (e.g., Super Bright, Brilliant Violet™, Brilliant Ultra Violet™), use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to avoid photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Compatible with IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
Note: BV605 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information

Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigens. It is the first antibody generated during an immune response and the largest immunoglobulin in serum. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, IgM is key in complement activation and antigen agglutination. It plays a crucial role in innate immunity and is widely used in research applications such as ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
