GAS41은 인간 MLLT1 및 MLLT3 단백질과 높은 서열 상동성을 가지며, 이들 단백질은 전사 인자(transcription factor) 계열에 속합니다. 따라서 GAS41도 전사 인자로 작용할 가능성이 있습니다. 이 단백질은 RNA 전사에 필수적인 것으로 알려져 있으며, 종양에서 유전자 증폭이 보고되었습니다.
