Target Information
GATA2 (GATA binding protein 2) belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors. GATA proteins play a crucial role in signaling pathways controlling proliferation and differentiation of erythroid progenitor cells. There are six transcription factors in the GATA family (GATA1–GATA6). GATA2 acts as a transcriptional activator regulating endothelin-1 gene expression in endothelial cells and is also involved in differentiation of uro-genital and nervous tissue during embryogenesis.
