Target Information
AURKA (Aurora A) is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates mitosis through association with centrosomes. Overexpression of AURKA is observed in many cancers. It plays a critical role in cell cycle regulation during anaphase and telophase, particularly in the centrosome/spindle pole region during chromosome segregation. Aurora A is a key factor in tumor development and progression and is overexpressed in breast, ovarian, and colorectal cancers.
Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in testis; weak expression in skeletal muscle, thymus, and spleen.
