Mouse anti Pig CD31 antibody, clone LCI-9 recognizes porcine Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule, also known as CD31 or PECAM-1.
Target Information
CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor involved in regulation of T cell and B cell signaling via dual immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs). Upon phosphorylation by associated kinases, these motifs provide docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases.
CD31 is ubiquitously expressed within the vascular compartment, primarily at junctions between adjacent cells. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, crucial for cell-cell interactions.
This multifunctional molecule plays roles in:
- Modulation of integrin-mediated cell adhesion
- Transendothelial migration
- Angiogenesis
- Apoptosis
- Negative regulation of immunoreceptor signaling
- Autoimmunity and macrophage phagocytosis
- IgE-mediated anaphylaxis and thrombosis
