Product Specific Information

MA5-13016 targets HER-4 in WB and FACS applications and shows reactivity with Human and Mouse samples.
The immunogen is the extracellular domain of recombinant human c-erbB-4/HER-4 oncoprotein.

Target Information

Oncogene ERBB4 (HER4) is a member of the type I receptor protein tyrosine kinase family, which includes EGFR, ERBB2, and ERBB3.
ERBB4 binds and is activated by neuregulins and other ligands, inducing cellular responses such as mitogenesis and differentiation.
It mediates signal transduction processes regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, apoptosis, and differentiation.

ERBB4 is predominantly expressed in several breast carcinoma cell lines and normal tissues such as skeletal muscle, heart, pituitary, brain, and cerebellum.
High mRNA levels are observed in breast tumor cell lines T47-D, MDA-MB-453, BT-474, and H3396; intermediate levels in MCF-7, MDAMB-330, and MDA-MB-361; and low or absent expression in MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-157, MDA-MB-468, and SKBR-3.
Elevated ERBB4 levels in certain tumor cell lines suggest its potential role in malignancies.
