Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Visfatin. Anti-Human Visfatin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detecting Human Visfatin using sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Visfatin (500-P222) as the capture antibody, detection sensitivity reaches 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Visfatin.

Western Blot:
For detecting Human Visfatin by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. Detection limit for Recombinant Human Visfatin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Visfatin (also known as pre-B cell colony-enhancing factor) is an adipocytokine abundantly secreted by visceral adipose tissue with insulin-mimetic effects. It binds to the insulin receptor, reducing glucose release from liver cells and stimulating glucose utilization in adipocytes and myocytes. Visfatin is involved in cell proliferation, biosynthesis of nicotinamide mono- and dinucleotide, and glucose homeostasis.
