Target Information
GRAIL (RNF128) is a type I transmembrane protein localized to the endocytic pathway. It contains a PA (protease-associated) domain and a RING-type zinc finger domain and functions as a ubiquitin-protein isopeptide ligase (E3). GRAIL plays a crucial role in CD4(+) T cell anergy induction and is differentially expressed in CD25(+) regulatory T cells, contributing to their regulatory phenotype. Its expression limits activation-induced IL-2 and IL-4 cytokine production and participates in dorsal ectoderm patterning and neural induction sensitivity.
