Target Information
Hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs), including HIF-1α, HIF-1β (Arnt 1), EPAS-1 (HIF-2α), and HIF-3α, regulate cellular responses to oxygen deprivation (hypoxia). These transcription factors promote glycolysis, erythropoiesis, and angiogenesis to restore oxygen homeostasis. HIF-1α forms a heterodimer with Arnt 1 under hypoxic conditions to activate transcription of hypoxia-responsive genes via the hypoxia responsive element (HRE).
