STK24 (MST3)는 serine/threonine kinase로, STE20-like 단백질 중 GCK subfamily에 속합니다.
Yeast의 Sterile 20 (STE20) 유전자는 MAPK cascade 상류에서 기능하며, 포유류의 STE20 관련 kinase는 구조 및 조절 방식에 따라 두 가지 하위군으로 나뉩니다.
PAK subfamily는 C-terminal catalytic domain과 N-terminal regulatory domain을 가지며 CDC42-binding domain을 포함합니다.
반면, GCK subfamily (Sps1 subfamily)는 N-terminal catalytic domain과 CDC42-binding domain이 없는 C-terminal regulatory domain을 가집니다.
STK24는 GCK subfamily에 속하는 STE20-like kinase입니다.
