Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CLASP2.
Target Information
CLASP2 is a microtubule plus-end tracking protein that promotes stabilization of dynamic microtubules. It is required for polarization of cytoplasmic microtubule arrays in migrating cells toward the leading edge. CLASP2 may act at the cell cortex to enhance rescue frequency of depolymerizing microtubules by attaching their plus-ends to cortical platforms composed of ERC1 and PHLDB2. This activity is regulated in part by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling. It also stabilizes microtubules at the kinetochore, essential for bipolar alignment of chromosomes on the mitotic spindle.
