ESE-1 (Epithelium-Specific Ets)은 ets 전사인자/온코진 패밀리의 새로운 구성원으로, 다른 ets 관련 인자들과 구별되는 특성을 가지고 있습니다.
ESE-1은 keratinocyte 말단 분화 마커 유전자인 SPRR2A 프로모터의 ets 결합 부위에 높은 친화도로 결합하고 전사활성을 유도합니다.
ESE-1은 상피세포 분화의 중요한 조절인자로 알려져 있습니다.
