Target Information
Troponin (Tn) is a key protein complex regulating striated muscle contraction, composed of three subunits:
- Tn-I: Inhibits actomyosin ATPase
- Tn-T: Binds tropomyosin and Tn-C
- Tn-C: Binds calcium and modulates the inhibitory action of the troponin complex on actin filaments
The TNNC2 gene encodes the Tn-C subunit.
