Target Information
UNC5CL is a membrane protein belonging to the UNC-5 family containing a death domain and a ZU5 domain. It interacts with p65/RELA and NFKB1, specifically with subunit p105 of NF-κB and transactivator p65. UNC5CL plays a role in inhibiting NF-κB activation and NF-κB-dependent transcription by preventing NF-κB from binding to its target sequence, providing an alternative regulatory mechanism for NF-κB-mediated transcription. This regulatory protein sensitizes cells to apoptosis induced by TNF and TRAIL.
