Target Information
IRAK3 (serine/threonine kinase, interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 3) is a member of the interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase protein family, essential for Toll/IL-R immune signal transduction.
Primarily expressed in monocytes and macrophages, IRAK3 functions as a negative regulator of Toll-like receptor signaling.
It mediates critical aspects of innate immunity, leading to immunocompromised states during sepsis.
Mutations in IRAK3 are associated with susceptibility to asthma.
