This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Kallikrein 8 (Neuropsin) protein.
Target Information
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as biomarkers for cancer and other diseases. The Kallikrein 8 gene is part of a cluster of fifteen kallikrein subfamily members on chromosome 19. The encoded protein may play a role in proteolytic cascades in the skin and serve as a biomarker for ovarian cancer. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
