Target Information
Steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (StAR)는 콜레스테롤을 세포질 외막에서 미토콘드리아 내막으로 운반하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다. 37 kDa 전구체는 절단되어 활성형 28 kDa 단백질로 전환되며, 이는 콜레스테롤을 프레그넬롤론으로 대사하는 데 관여합니다. StAR은 부신 및 생식선의 스테로이드 생성 조직의 미토콘드리아에서 주로 발현됩니다. StAR 유전자의 이상은 선천성 지방성 부신피질형성저하증(LCAH)과 관련이 있으며, 이는 프레그넬롤론 및 코르티솔 합성 결함을 초래합니다. 콜레스테롤이 StAR에 결합하는 정확한 기전은 아직 밝혀지지 않았습니다.
