Product Specific Information
- This antibody does not cross-react with mouse Osteocalcin.
- Mouse anti-Human Osteocalcin antibody, clone 2H9F11F8, recognizes intact human and bovine osteocalcin in a “2 site” assay.
- Reacts with osteocalcin fragments corresponding to amino acids 15–31 and 20–43 of the native molecule.
Target Information
Osteocalcin belongs to the osteocalcin/matrix Gla-protein family and constitutes 1–2% of total bone protein. It binds strongly to apatite and calcium. Gamma-carboxyglutamate residues are formed by vitamin K–dependent carboxylation, which are essential for calcium binding.
