Target Information
GPR55 is expressed in the brain, with mRNA transcripts detected in the caudate nucleus and putamen, but not in five other brain regions (Sawzdargo et al., 1999). ESTs have been isolated from liver/spleen libraries.
G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) constitute one of the largest families of signaling molecules, sharing a common structure of seven membrane-spanning helices. They exist in active and inactive forms and are regulated through complex signaling pathways involving G-proteins and downstream effectors.
