BMPR2는 bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) receptor 계열의 transmembrane serine/threonine kinase로, endochondral bone formation 및 배아 발생에 관여합니다. BMPR2의 기능 이상은 primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH) 및 pulmonary venoocclusive disease와 관련이 있으며, 인간 T세포 분화에도 중요한 역할을 합니다. BMP 신호전달은 type I 및 type II receptor 복합체를 통해 이루어지며, 각 receptor는 상호 의존적으로 ligand 결합 및 신호 전달을 수행합니다.
