Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of NUAK1 only when phosphorylated at Ser600.

Target Information

NUAK1 (ARK5) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in multiple cellular processes. Overexpression of this kinase has been linked to tumor invasion and metastasis, particularly in colorectal cancer. It regulates cellular senescence and ploidy by phosphorylating LATS1 at Ser-464, thereby affecting its stability. NUAK1 also controls cell adhesion through regulation of the myosin protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) complex by phosphorylating the PPP1R12A subunit, which interacts with 14-3-3 proteins, reducing dephosphorylation of myosin MLC2. Additionally, NUAK1 participates in the DNA damage response by phosphorylating p53 at Ser-15 and Ser-392, contributing to transcriptional activation of CDKN1A/WAF1. It may act as a tumor malignancy-associated factor under AKT1 regulation and phosphorylation, suppressing Fas-induced apoptosis via phosphorylation of CASP6, and modulating UV-induced DNA damage responses through CDKN1A phosphorylation in association with STK11.
