Product Specific Information

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM EDTA buffer for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Target Information

The IRF (interferon regulatory factor) family of transcription factors is characterized by a unique tryptophan pentad repeat DNA-binding domain.
IRFs regulate interferon expression in response to viral infection and control interferon-inducible genes.
IRF4 is lymphocyte-specific and negatively regulates toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling, which is central to innate and adaptive immune activation.
A chromosomal translocation involving this gene and the IgH locus, t(6;14)(p25;q32), may cause multiple myeloma.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
