Product Description

Influenza virus infection of birds, humans and other animals is a major public health problem worldwide. Influenza viruses are classified as either type A, B or C based on differences in their nucleoproteins and matrix proteins. Type A viruses are the most virulent human pathogens among the three influenza types and cause the most severe disease and epidemics.
These viruses can be further classified into subtypes based on antigenic differences in two surface glycoproteins: hemagglutinin and neuraminidase. All known subtypes of influenza A can be found in birds (H1–H16, N1–N9), while only a limited number have been found in humans (H1–H3, N1 and N2).
Recently, various subtypes of Influenza A viruses, including H5N1, have infected humans (WHO, 2006). The coexistence of human and avian influenza viruses may allow genetic material exchange, potentially creating new virulent strains transmissible to humans (Food Safety Research Information Office, 2006).
Thus, sensitive diagnostic tests are essential for rapid and early detection of H5 influenza virus infections to reduce epidemic or pandemic risks in animals and humans.

Both PCR signals above the baseline from FAM and HEX channels indicate successful PCR.

Amplification Graphs:

• FAM channel (blue): Y-axis RFU, X-axis Cycles
• HEX channel (green): Y-axis RFU, X-axis Cycles
  Both graphs show amplification curves indicating strong signal detection.

Example of TaqMan One-step RT-PCR Negative Result

No target RNA was detected in FAM channel, but amplification signal from HEX indicates successful PCR.

  Both graphs display baseline signals confirming absence of target RNA.

No signal from both FAM and HEX channels was detected. It is recommended to repeat sample preparation using the recommended RNA purification kit.

  Both graphs show no amplification, indicating PCR inhibition.

Storage Conditions and Product Stability
