Target Information
Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins containing approximately 80% carbohydrate and 20% protein core. Gastric mucin is naturally found in the human gastrointestinal tract. During colonic carcinogenesis, gastric mucin reactivity may reappear due to re-expression of the peptide core of gastric or fetal colonic mucins.
