PKMYT1 serine/threonine kinase는 신경 특이적인 zinc finger 함유 DNA 결합 단백질 계열에 속하며, 중추신경계의 proteolipid 단백질 프로모터 영역에 결합하여 신경계 발달에 관여합니다.
MYT1은 oligodendrocyte 계통뿐 아니라 포유류의 발달 중인 뉴런에서도 발현됩니다. PKMYT1 재조합 단편은 PLP1 프로모터의 동일한 조절 요소에 결합하며, DNA 결합은 Zn²⁺에 의존합니다.
