Description:
The SJ25C1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells during all developmental stages except terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. Together with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, CD19 forms a multimolecular complex associated with the BCR. Signaling through CD19 induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and proliferation of B cells. SJ25C1 and HIB19 recognize overlapping epitopes.

Each product includes one vial of NovaFluor conjugate and one vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.8 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Note: NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI). Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains instead.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01):

• Improved formulation over previous CellBlox
• Required for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates
• Add 5 µL per sample before combining with cells

Target Information

CD19, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, contains two Ig-like domains and is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells. It may also appear on myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and regulates normal and malignant B cell proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression can cause B cell hyperactivity.
