MCM2 (Mini Chromosome Maintenance Protein 2) is involved in regulating DNA replication.
MCM2 (also known as CDCL1, mitotin, and BM28) is a nuclear protein essential for cell cycle progression and the initiation of DNA replication.
It is similar to early S-phase proteins and has been mapped to chromosome 3q21.
CDCL1 has been identified as a potential oncogene affected by chromosomal breaks in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
