Description:
The eBioclone 97 monoclonal antibody was generated against a human c-Met-Ig fusion protein and reacts with human c-Met (HGFR)-transfected cells. Human c-Met is a 145 kDa receptor tyrosine kinase expressed by epithelial cells of the brain, kidney, liver, and other tissues. Binding of its ligand, Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF), triggers receptor autophosphorylation and activation of downstream effectors including ERK-1, ERK-2, and PLCγ. Activation of the c-Met pathway leads to cellular responses such as motility, scattering, proliferation, survival, and angiogenesis. Mutations in c-Met are implicated in various malignancies.

MET is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase associated with multiple human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, activating signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC. MET is involved in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and adult processes (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling). Dysregulation of MET is linked to gastric, renal, and breast cancers, making it a key target in cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
