- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, 100% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse CES-3 is observed.
- No cross-reactivity with rmCES-2, rmCES-5, or recombinant human CES-2.
- Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the carboxylesterase large family. Members of this family hydrolyze or transesterify various xenobiotics (e.g., cocaine, heroin) and endogenous substrates with ester, thioester, or amide bonds. They may participate in fatty acyl and cholesterol ester metabolism and play a role in the blood-brain barrier system. This enzyme is a major liver enzyme involved in hepatic drug clearance. Mutations in this gene cause carboxylesterase 1 deficiency. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
