• In direct ELISAs, approximately 25–100% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse CHST1 and no cross-reactivity with recombinant human CHST2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, and 14 is observed.

Target Information

Carbohydrate sulfotransferase 1 (CHST1), also referred to as KSGal6ST or KSST, is a keratan sulfate sulfotransferase. It is predominantly expressed in brain and skeletal muscle and localizes to the trans-Golgi network. CHST1 mediates the sulfation of keratan in the cornea, which is important for maintaining corneal transparency. It catalyzes the transfer of sulfate groups from 3′-phosphoadenosine 5′-phosphosulfate to position six of internal or terminal galactose residues on growing keratan sulfate chains, contributing to L-selectin ligand generation. Mutations in CHST1 may be associated with macular corneal dystrophy (MCD).
