- Recommended positive controls: H1N1-infected H1299, DF1 (Influenza A virus treatment for 10 hr), influenza virus (A/WSN/33) infected MDCK.

Target Information
The nucleoprotein (NP) of Influenza A virus encapsidates the negative strand of the viral RNA and is essential for replicative transcription. It may also be involved in other essential functions throughout the virus life cycle. NP binds ssRNA and self-associates to form large oligomeric complexes. It interacts with various viral and cellular macromolecules, including PB1, PB2, and M1 proteins. NP also associates with cellular proteins such as importin nuclear receptors, filamentous actin, CRM1, and DEAD box helicase BAT1/UAP56 (Portela et al., 2002).
