NFKB1 (p50)은 Rel 단백질 패밀리의 구성원으로 p105 전구체로부터 합성되며, RHD 영역을 포함하여 핵 이동 신호, DNA 결합 및 이합체화 도메인을 가집니다.
p50은 p65와 이합체를 형성하여 기능적 NF-kB 인자를 이루며, NF-kB의 핵 내 이동과 DNA 결합에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
NF-kB의 병리적 역할은 AIDS, 혈액암 전이, 류머티즘성 관절염 등에서 보고되었습니다.
