In Western blots, no cross-reactivity with recombinant human Integrin beta 1, beta 2, beta 3, beta 5, beta 6, beta 8, or recombinant mouse Integrin beta 4 is observed.
Target Information
Integrins are heterodimers composed of alpha and beta subunits that form noncovalently associated transmembrane glycoprotein receptors. Different alpha–beta combinations determine ligand-binding specificity. Integrins mediate cell–matrix and cell–cell adhesion, transmitting signals that regulate gene expression and cell growth.
The Integrin beta 4 (CD104) subunit acts as a receptor for laminins and typically associates with the alpha 6 subunit. It plays a key role in invasive carcinoma biology. Mutations in this gene are linked to epidermolysis bullosa with pyloric atresia. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms exist.
