Product Specific Information

• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
• Restore with 0.05 mL of deionized water (or equivalent).
• For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.
• Expiration date: 1 year from date of restoration.

Typically negligible cross-reactivity against other collagen types was detected by ELISA against purified standards. Some class-specific anti-collagens may be specific for three-dimensional epitopes, resulting in diminished reactivity with denatured collagen or formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues.
This antibody reacts with most mammalian Type IV collagens and shows negligible cross-reactivity with Type I, II, III, V, and VI collagens. Non-specific cross-reaction with human serum proteins or non-collagen extracellular matrix proteins is negligible.

Target Information

Collagen IV is a major component of the basement membrane in tissues such as kidneys, lungs, and skin. It forms a network-like structure providing support and stability to surrounding tissues.
Composed of three alpha chains encoded by the COL4A1, COL4A2, and COL4A3 genes.
Mutations in these genes are associated with disorders like Alport syndrome and Goodpasture syndrome, affecting kidneys and lungs.
