Product Specific Information
This antibody detects a 220 kDa protein corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of Plexin-A1 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of adult mouse brain and Cos-7 cells transfected with mouse Plexin-A1.
In immunocytochemistry, this antibody co-localizes with anti-Myc in Cos-7 cells transfected with Myc-tagged mouse Plexin-A1.
Target Information
Plexin-A1 acts as a coreceptor for SEMA3A, SEMA3C, SEMA3F, and SEMA6D. It is essential for signaling by class 3 semaphorins and subsequent cytoskeletal remodeling.
Plays a role in axon guidance, invasive growth, and cell migration.
Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin, where the plexin modulates ligand affinity and activates downstream signaling events in the cytoplasm.
