Antibody detects endogenous levels of PDGF Receptor beta only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 740.
Target Information
PDGFRB is a receptor tyrosine kinase implicated in atherogenesis and cell transformation by the SIS oncogene. These growth factors act as mitogens for cells of mesenchymal origin. The identity of the bound growth factor determines whether the receptor forms a homodimer or heterodimer with PDGFR alpha or beta polypeptides.
The PDGFRB gene is located on chromosome 5, flanked by genes for granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor and macrophage-colony stimulating factor receptor. A translocation between chromosomes 5 and 12 that fuses PDGFRB (CD140b) with the ETV6 leukemia gene results in chronic myeloproliferative disorder with eosinophilia.
