STAT1 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 1)는 STAT 전사인자 패밀리의 구성원으로, IFN-α, IFN-γ, EGF, PDGF, IL-6 등에 의해 활성화됩니다.
세포 성장, 세포사멸, 면역 반응, 지질 대사 관련 유전자 발현을 조절하며, 다양한 세포 자극 및 병원체 노출에 대한 세포 생존성 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
STAT1 유전자는 염색체 2번에 위치하며, JAK 키나아제에 의해 인산화된 후 핵으로 이동하여 다양한 유전자의 전사를 조절합니다. STAT1, STAT3, STAT5a, STAT5b는 폭넓은 활성화 프로파일을 가지며, IFN, gp130 패밀리, RTK 리간드(EGF, PDGF, CSF-1 등)에 의해 활성화됩니다.
