Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Plastin L.
Target Information
L-plastin is a leukocyte-specific actin bundling protein belonging to the fimbrin family. It contains two actin-binding domains and two EF-hand calcium-binding domains. Phosphorylation occurs at the serine residue in its headpiece region in response to inflammatory stimuli. L-plastin may regulate integrin-mediated adhesion in leukocytes and is expressed in most human cancer cell lines derived from solid tumors. Its expression is upregulated by testosterone in androgen receptor-positive prostate and breast cancer cells through three androgen receptor binding elements located upstream of the gene.
