Target Information
TRAK1 is involved in the regulation of endosome-to-lysosome trafficking, including endocytic trafficking of EGF-EGFR complexes and GABA-A receptors. It also plays a role in mitochondrial motility. When O-glycosylated, mitochondrial motility is abolished. TRAK1 recruits OGT to the mitochondrial surface of neuronal processes. TRAK1 and RHOT form a protein complex linking KIF5 to mitochondria for light chain-independent, anterograde mitochondrial transport.
