EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)는 다양한 성장 인자에 반응하여 신호를 전달하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제입니다. 과발현은 여러 암종과 관련이 있으며, EGFR은 생물학적 및 소분자 치료제의 표적입니다.
EGFR 유전자는 인간 염색체 7번에 위치하며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리(ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4 포함)에 속합니다.
EGFR은 막관통 수용체로, EGF(Epidermal Growth Factor)나 TGFα(Transforming Growth Factor alpha)와 결합 시 이량체화(dimerization)가 유도되고, 세포질 도메인의 티로신 잔기들이 자가 인산화됩니다.
이러한 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도 및 편평세포암 등에서 관찰됩니다.
