Product Specific Information
This antibody binds gpUL75 (gH) of the human cytomegalovirus, an 86-kDa glycoprotein. The heterodimer glycoprotein H-glycoprotein L is required for fusion of viral and plasma membranes, enabling virus entry into host cells. It is thought to bind a conformational epitope on gH, and binding is lost if the protein is denatured.

Cytomegalovirus (HCMV), also known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5), is an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus. The glycoprotein H (gH) is a late neutralizing antigen and reacts with MRC-5 infected cells.
