Target Information
Msi2 (Musashi homolog 2), also known as MSI2H, is a 328 amino acid protein localized in the cytoplasm with two RNA recognition motif (RRM) domains. It acts as an RNA-binding protein involved in regulating mRNA expression, contributing to stem cell proliferation and maintenance in the central nervous system. Msi2 is phosphorylated posttranslationally and upregulated following brain injury, suggesting a role in tissue regeneration. Chromosomal aberrations involving Msi2 are linked to chronic myeloid leukemia progression. Expression is ubiquitous but at low levels.
