Target Information
MET (cMET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to various human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, triggering signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET functions in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and in adult processes (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Aberrant MET activity is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
