Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They combine multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of recombinant production.
They recognize multiple epitope sites, offering high detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. The recombinant nature ensures consistent populations of light and heavy chains in every lot, eliminating variability seen in traditional polyclonal antibody production.
Formerly called “Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody”, this product is now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ Antibody”. The physical product and performance remain unchanged.
Target Information
BCL-2 is a key regulator of apoptosis, functioning to inhibit or promote cell death. Members of the BCL-2 family dimerize to modulate apoptosis further.
Bag1 forms a heterodimer with BCL-2, enhancing its anti-apoptotic effect. Bax and Bak are critical for cytochrome c release from mitochondria, initiating apoptosis.
Constitutive expression of BCL-2, such as in translocation to the Ig heavy chain locus, is associated with follicular lymphoma.
In most follicular lymphomas, neoplastic germinal centers express high levels of BCL-2 alpha protein, unlike normal or hyperplastic germinal centers.
Two transcript variants of BCL-2 differ in their C-terminal ends, and its overexpression is linked to cancers such as B-cell lymphoma and prostate cancer.
