Target Information
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the M49 family of metallopeptidases.
It is a cytoplasmic protein that binds a single zinc ion via a zinc-binding motif (HELLGH) and exhibits post-proline dipeptidyl aminopeptidase activity, cleaving Xaa-Pro dipeptides from the N-termini of proteins.
Increased activity of this protein has been associated with endometrial and ovarian cancers.
Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been characterized.
