KRTAP1-1은 keratin-associated protein (KAP) 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 케라틴 중간 필라멘트 매트릭스를 형성하여 모발 섬유의 구조에 기여합니다. KAP 단백질들은 아미노산 조성에 따라 고황(high sulfur), 초고황(ultrahigh sulfur), 고타이로신/글리신(high tyrosine/glycine) 그룹으로 분류됩니다. KRTAP1-1은 고황 KAP 패밀리에 속하며, 해당 유전자는 염색체 17q12–q21 영역의 KAP 유전자 클러스터에 위치합니다.
